Mike Greensill plays piano this weekend for “Laughter From the Hip.”

When he’s not playing piano, Mike Greensill tells stories — and he is almost as good a storyteller as he is a pianist. You can judge for yourself when Greensill teams up with the superb bassist John Wiitala for “Laughter From the Hip,” Friday and Saturday, Jan. 12 and 13.

Greensill is well known for his work with many artists, including, of course, his wife, retired Wesla Whitfield. His resume is filled with famous and not-so-famous musicians and composers, and he’ll share stories about many of them, and sing songs by Dave Frishberg, Fats Waller, Mose Allison, Tom Lehrer and Bob Dorough.
